Alaska Cruises

If you have never traveled to Alaska, you may want to consider seeing it by taking a cruise. There is so much to see, and an Alaska cruise is one of the best ways to take it all in. Surrounded by wilderness, ocean, wildlife, glaciers, and plenty of glorious scenery and fresh air, you can enjoy every spectacular moment. Of course, you are not just limited to the activities onboard the ship. On shore excursions are also part of the Alaska cruise experience, and with so much to explore, you may want to set aside a few extra days to travel inland and take advantage of all that Alaska has to offer.

When choosing to cruise instead of other traditional modes of transportation, you only have to unpack one time during your trip, while you’re on the ship that is. Cruise ships are like a huge traveling city, complete with excellent cuisine served at a variety of different restaurants and lounges, recreational activities, exercise facilities, Broadway-type entertainment, theaters, boutiques, and much more, all for one great price. Most of the major cruise lines offer itineraries traveling to and from Alaska, usually departing from Vancouver, British Columbia, or from Anchorage, Alaska, with highlights including Prince William Sounds and Glacier National Park. These itineraries also include stops at various cities along the way, so you’ll be sure not to miss a thing.

According to Alaska Tour and Travel, the most popular cruise lines that offer travel itineraries to Alaska are Princess Cruises and the Holland America Line. Royal Caribbean, Carnival, and Celebrity Cruise Lines also offer limited itineraries to this destination. Something else to consider is how you’re going to get to your Alaska cruise departure location. Depending on where you’re going to start out, you will need to either fly or drive at least one way. You’ll also want to take into the consideration the time of year and the weather, so flying may be a better option. Alaska Airlines offers a number of reasonable flights and times from which to choose, and will take you directly to Anchorage, then back to your departure city.

Traveling to Alaska is becoming quite popular, and Alaska cruises book up fast, so don’t wait and plan well in advance of when you would like to go. Check out the abundance of information available on the web where you can request literature on the great state of Alaska, places of interest, best time to travel, and itineraries and prices from different cruise lines. You’ll want to take lots of pictures, so have your camera ready! You won’t run out of awesome picture taking opportunities, from whales to grizzlies, it’s all there!

Most of us have thought about it some time or another. The sound of the waves, the smell of the ocean, who could ask for more. Cruises are becoming more popular as time moves on. It doesn't have to consist of a summer getaway any longer. Many of us take advantage of cruises when getting married, or simply seeing new places. No matter what your attraction to the big boats, tours are evolving. These days you can even take an Alaska cruise tour. I know what you're thinking. Who would want to venture out into the cold for a vacation? Regardless, this new concept is becoming more and more desired.

I first stumbled across an Alaska cruise tour when I was searching for destination weddings online. I was shocked that this idea ever arose, let alone opened to the public. When I hear people discuss fun and relaxation, it typically involves the sun and 80 degree weather. Tours to Alaska are never mentioned. However, I was more than intrigued by the notion of an Alaska cruise tour. My fiance and I even discussed the idea of a destination wedding on an Alaskan cruise. Being a cold-lover, I thought it sounded magnificent. After all, how many times do you head up to Alaska?

Alaska cruise tours are available at reasonable prices if you check your online listings. If you do a thorough search, you can come up with a pretty decent package. Imagine all that can be seen and experienced on an Alaska cruise tour. Beautiful snowy scenery set with ocean life at your hand's reach. It could be an experience like no other. All of your friends who head out on their stereotypical summer cruises will be jealous when they catch wind of your tour of Alaska. It's a time you won't forget.

Whether you're looking for a peaceful getaway, or a honeymoon cruise to an exciting new place, Alaskan cruises are the way to go. If you're sick of the heat and sun beating in your eyes, try a trip to the northern state that many never get to see. Take in the Northern lights and relax with the penguins while having a romantic dinner. Many people never give winter cruises a try, but if you do, you'll surely bring back some good memories. After all, you only live once. Make it a variety of joyful experiences.
