Islands for sale

I think just about every kid has dreamed about having for sale Virgin Islands of their own. The only difference is that some of us never grow up. I have always wanted to have my own island ever since I can remember. I used to picture going around all by myself, exploring every nook and cranny. There would be beautiful turquoise ocean, pristine beaches, strange and dark caves, and wild animals with eyes that glowed at night. At the time, it of course, it was just a game of make-believe. I had never really contemplated islands for sale. Kids aren't that practical, and anyway I hadn't wanted to buy it. I had wanted to be a pirate and capture it!

I know that most adults never get to even contemplate buying an island for sale, but life has been good to me. My maternal grandmother was very close to me, and although no one knew it, she was extremely wealthy. Everyone knew that she had some money, but when she died unexpectedly and left me 5 million dollars, the whole family was shocked. Although it caused some resentment, I was soon able to smooth things over. Everyone got some of the money in the will, although I did get the lion's share of it. It gave me the perfect opportunity to realize my lifetime goal. I immediately began to research islands for sale.

When most people think of for sale islands, they picture the middle of the Caribbean. That had always been my childhood fantasy, but my tastes have changed somewhat as an adult. Although I do love to swim, I also love the Rocky rugged beaches and cold winters of the northern oceans. Most of the islands for sale in more hospitable climes were beyond my limited financial resources anyway. I finally settled on one in Alaska, protected from the worst of the winter by good ocean currents but still subjected to some harsh storms. It was gorgeous.
